As a student at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, I participated in research for an international brand of mouthwash and toothpaste. Consequently, I became very aware and interested in the many products available to consumers.
During my nearly three decades of practicing dentistry, I have witnessed an inundation of product alternatives. This overwhelming flood of choices makes it increasingly confusing and difficult for consumers to make the right choice for home oral care. Today this confusion has reached an all-time high, and seemingly requires a dental degree to avoid some potentially harmful, ineffective and unpleasant choices.
