What to Do Before Your New Patient Visit

We have a few pre-appointment steps you can take to ensure your first visit to Dr. Nick’s White & Healthy Dentistry runs as smoothly as possible.

New Patient Forms

We highly recommend completing your new patient forms before your appointment. Thankfully, completing new patient paperwork is easier than ever. You can download the forms and submit them to us via email once you’ve completed them. This gives your new Tampa dentist an opportunity to review them before your appointment to see what they need to address during that visit.

Patient Records

If you’ve been to a dentist within the last five years, you may have records that can help us, including digital x-rays. A complete set of dental x-rays is recommended every five to seven years. Bitewing x-rays should be taken every six months to two years, depending on your dental needs. If we receive a copy of recent dental x-rays, we might not need to take any at your new patient visit. However, whether we take new x-rays or not depends on your unique dental needs. If there are signs of decay or other dental diseases or conditions, your Tampa dentist will likely recommend x-rays.

Other information – such as previous treatments – may also be pertinent to your new patient appointment with us. We will have you sign a release of records form with your previous dentist so they can legally forward them to your new Tampa dentist.

What to Expect at Your First Visit to Your Tampa Dentist

When you step into our comfortable office, our welcoming team will greet you with a friendly smile. Your new Tampa dentist will review your new patient forms with you to address any health or dental concerns. If x-rays are needed, we’ll take them before your examination to aid with diagnosis.

During the examination, your dentist will check your teeth, gums, jaw joint, and soft tissues for signs of adverse conditions or dental decay. Based on Dr. Nick’s exam, he’ll create a custom treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health and answer any questions you may have.
